Everyone in Malaysia knows Michelle Yeoh. Many, including I, take her as a source of inspiration, for being able to break into the Hollywood industry, which many thought was impossible for Asians, let alone Malaysians

Talented Michelle Yeoh has starred in many infamous movies

In 1997, she starred as Wai Lin in Tomorrow Never Dies (a James Bond movie) with Pierce Brosnan

In 2000, she was Yu Shu Lien in the award-winning film, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon

In 2002, Michelle Yeoh starred in the movie, The Touch

Then, in 2005, she acted as Mameha in Memoirs of a Geisha

In 2008, Michelle Yeoh played the captivating witch, Zi Yuan, in The Mummy 3 : Tomb of the Dragon King

In 2010, she was in the action-packed movie, Reign of Assassins

And she will be starring in the movie "The Lady", which will depict the life of Aung San Suu Kyi, Burma's pro-democracy leader. Unfortunately, Michelle Yeoh was deported from Burma, because of this. (You might want to read up Burma's history to find out more)

I would never use the term "hot" to describe Michelle Yeoh, but the term "beautiful". 
Unlike many other actresses, Michelle Yeoh does not carry a sensual aura around her, instead, a soft but noticeable glow of elegance.

In 1997, Michelle Yeoh was in the People Magazine's Top 50 Most Beautiful People in the World.

In 2008, Michelle Yeoh was ranked Greatest Heroine of All Time in

And in 2009, she was listed again in People magazine. This time, in the 35 all-time screen beauties.

Born in 6th of August 1962 (sharing the same birth day with me) Michelle Yeoh is 49 this year

Despite being 49, she is still very charming and captivating

So then, some people say "What's the big deal about Michelle anyway? She's pretty, but not the prettiest Asian around. Gong Li is hotter than her"

While I don't completely agree with that statement, I have to agree that Gong Li is HOT

Despite being 45, Gong Li is still oozing with so much sexual appeal. Her skin is flawless and anyone would have suspected that she drank from some secret pool of eternal youth.

In terms of being "hot", I would say that Gong Li is one of the HOTTEST Asian women alive. If I were to imagine Yang Guifei (one of the 4 greatest beauties of ancient China), the first image I would conjure is definitely Gong li (Aside from the fact that Yang Guifei was noted to be rather plump)

But as cliche as it may sound, beauty is only skin-deep.

There's more to beauty than having perfect skin and a sensual figure.

So, what is the X Factor in Beauty?


(while I'm not denying Gong Li has them) Michelle Yeoh acts and behaves like a true Lady. She carries herself with so much poise and elegance, nobody could help but to be captivated by her charming personality.

So full of confidence and poise, it's as if Michelle was the Asian reincarnation of Georgiana Cavendish, the Duchess of Devonshire.

I absolutely adore Michelle Yeoh, ever since I first watched her in Tomorrow Never Dies. So if you're gonna condemn her, please don't do it here :)

Trimming Your Eyebrows

A lot of people ask me this question. "Do you trim your eyebrows?"

Yes I do. As a matter of fact, I shave them.

Then they say "OMG, you're a guy! Why do you even do that?!"

Then I will be like "Isn't it obvious? Vanity lah. Duh"

Of course, there are more reasons to it than that. But I can't possibly be giving a lecture about "Why trim your eyebrows?" to everyone i meet right?

So today, I will be explaining to you guys once and for all.

Trimming your eyebrows make your eyes look more alert. It gives your face a more solid look.

Besides that, if you have unruly eyebrows, it makes you look haggard and tired. Having them trimmed instantly gives you a more energetic feel.

"But plucking your eyebrows hurt like hell!"

SO shave them instead!

"But I don't know how to!!!!!"

Then go to Bluunis to have them trimmed for you

They specialize in trimming eyebrows. You can either ask them to shave it or pluck them for you. The good thing about plucking is that they last longer for about half a month or more, but it hurts (yea, and i cant stand the pain). Shaving is faster and painless, but it will grow back faster (maybe about 5 days later)

"But I don't have money to keep maintaining my eyebrows!"

Relax, you only need to get them done by professionals once. You can maintain it yourself for the rest of your life.

First you need to get one of these eyebrow shavers. (Don't use the razor for shaving your beard. You'd regret it if you even tried) You can get them in any pharmacy stores like Guardian and Watsons

After that you wet your eyebrow region thoroughly with water to prevent/minimize razor burns

Then, you look in the mirror and focus at your eyebrow region.

The next thing you have to do is to gently shave off the stubble growing around your designed eyebrow region. You can easily tell by shaving off the shorter hair that is growing near the longer ones.

Be careful not to apply too much force or you will cut yourself. If it's your first few times, take it slow and steadily.

I recommend doing this once or twice a week. You don't want to wait too long before shaving them, or you will find some difficulty in distinguishing the shorter eyebrows and the longer ones

Yes, nobody likes having bushy eyebrows. So if you don't like them, just trim them.

Just be very careful when doing so. You don't wanna end up looking like this, don't you?

When to start using anti aging products?

As early as possible.

When it comes to anti aging, prevention is ALWAYS better than cure.

And you want to start preventing as early as possible

So what's the best time to start?

Directly after your puberty ends

But you don't have to go so deep into it by spamming your face with anti-aging night creams, toners, facials washes, etc. if you're that young. Just get yourself an anti-aging serum or moisturizer.

And sunblock is a must during the day

Look for ones with a minimum of SPF 30 and PA ++

People may tell you that you should not be using anti-aging products at 19, but trust me, they're wrong.

An early start is always better, unless you wanna rely on botox when you grow old.

And you may not know this, but botox is actually a toxin that paralyzes your facial nerves. Trust me, leave botox as your last resort, and start getting your anti-aging serums.

Prevention IS better than cure

3 steps of Basic Skincare

"Must I layer my face with so many products?"

Not really

Eye gels, night creams, serums, etc. They're necessary, but not a must

So today, I will be talking about the 3 steps in basic skin care

1. Cleanse

When you get yourself a cleanser, it is very important to understand your skin type; whether its oily, dry, mixture or sensitive.

If you have sensitive skin that breaks out easily (like me) always opt for a mild cleanser. You need something that removes sufficient amount of oil and sebum without leaving your skin too dry and irritating it.

 Neutrogena Liquid cleanser

 KOSE's cleanser. Never read the ingredients before, but the ratings are good

 Vitamin E Cream Cleanser by Body Shop. Great antioxidants

 Clinique Rinse-off Foaming Cleanser

Cetaphil : Gentle Skin Cleanser.

Do NOT use "extra deep clean" cleansers. They're NOT made for human skin. Trust me.

Never cleanse your face more than 2 times a day. Washing your face too often will result with oilier skin.

Avoid cleansers with SLS, and SLES too. You wouldn't want those wretched substances touching your skin

2. Tone

The purpose of a toner is to remove final traces of dirt on your skin and to minimise your pores. If possible, always choose a toner that is alcohol free.

Those containing alcohol will dehydrate your skin and can sometimes cause your pores to enlarge.

 Body Shop : Seaweed Clarifying toner

 Kiehl's Ultra Facial Toner

 Age Defense Toning Lotion by Skineeds

 L'Oreal Paris Dermo-Expertise : Pure Zone Toner

Body Shop : Tea Tree Skin Clearing Toner

There are many ways you can apply your toner : with bare hands (i don't suggest this), using a mist spray, or with a cotton ball

Once a again, please avoid those with "extra deep clean" (Deep clean is already a taboo to me, what more 'extra' deep clean) Many of them use alcohol as their active ingredient, and they have a lot of other ingredients that will kill your skin.

3. Moisturize

It doesn't matter what your skin type is, you NEED a moisturizer.

When applying moisturizer, always apply it with gentle outward and upward strokes.

I don't recommend using rich moisturizers unless it's for night use and you're sleeping in an air conditioned room.

Never use moisturizers with mineral oil. NEVER.

Nano White Cell Moist Moisturizer

Skineeds Age Defense Moisturizer

Cetaphil Daily Facial Moisturizer

So there you have it. The 3 basic steps.
